Colin Mason
The Scottish baritone and conductor Colin Mason studied musicology at Oxford, specializing in Renaissance and Baroque music. He has performed with ensembles such as the Taverner Choir, the Monteverdi Choir, and the King's Singers, and has lived in Vienna since 1988. As the founder of the vocal ensemble NOVA, a sought-after teacher, and an internationally active conductor, he has led concerts at renowned festivals and major opera houses and concert halls worldwide.

The choir course, led by Colin Mason, combines a singing workshop with individual voice health training by Hannes Fromhund.
Singers from all over the world are welcome to immerse themselves in the music of Senfl, Hofhaimer, Isaac, Desprez, de la Rue and other composers and to benefit from the expertise of researchers with a musicological background.
The course includes group and chamber choir sessions, coaching on vocal health and singing technique, and historical expertise.
The course also offers an opportunity for further development and professional exchange for choir directors.
We focus on the singing of chamber choirs and liturgical music.
The choir course is also an opportunity to join a community of like-minded musicians.

Conditions
To secure your place in the Mason choir class, a non-refundable deposit of €150.00 is payable upon booking to the account of Kulturverein 4K Schwaz AT42 5700 0300 5584 2210, BIC HYPTAT22.
The remaining amount must be paid by April 20, 2026, at the latest, to the same account.

If you are a member of the Tyrolean Choir Association, please let us know, as special conditions for these participants may still be negotiated.

Introductory lecture by Colin Mason: “Encounter” with the court composers of Emperor Maximilian I and their political significance
Participation in the final concert (Whit Monday)

Cancellation policy
The organizing cultural association 4K Schwaz reserves the right to cancel the courses due to circumstances beyond its control or in the event of insufficient participation.
In this case, participants will be notified in good time and all costs paid will be refunded.
Participants may withdraw from the contract no later than one month before the start of the master class and singing class. In this case, the deposit of €150.00 paid will be retained by the organizer.
If the participant withdraws from the contract later than one month before the start of the master class and singing class, an amount of €100.00, in addition to the deposit of €150.00, totaling €250.00, must be paid to the organizer.
If the participant withdraws from the contract later than one week before the start of the event, the entire course fee must be paid.
Insurance / Liability
No liability is accepted for injuries, accidents, illnesses, or losses—neither on arrival or departure nor during the stay or course activities.
Any legal disputes shall be settled by the court with jurisdiction over the organizer.
